ROCKWELL Automation is making training more flexible and convenient by introducing Rockwell Automation University Online.
This latest addition to the company's extensive training program is launched from Rockwell Automation's website. It can be used to reinforce classroom training or provide access to training for customers who are located in more remote areas.
The web-based training is a complete learning management system providing progress and achievement reports for each user.
According to Amber Hurley, Rockwell Automation Australia training services manager, this new approach means individuals can become more self-directed in their training.
"We understand industrial plants don't always have the luxury to release staff for conventional training courses," she explained. "The philosophy of all our self-paced training programs is to make the training available at a time and place that suits the company or individual."
Rockwell Automation University Online can be obtained via an innovative e-Pass licensing scheme, available in packages of five, 20, 50 and 100 e-Passes.
These can then be allocated in various combinations, for example, 20 e-Passes could be split between two, five, or 10 people.
The web-based training currently covers core areas such as 'Industrial Basics', 'Automation Fundamentals', 'Rockwell Software RSView Machine Edition' and 'Rockwell Software RSLogix 5000'.
A stand-out feature of Rockwell Automation University Online is the availability of user learning profiles.
"We can manage quite a number of people using the learning management system, which compiles comprehensive records of who has been tested and what modules have been completed," said Ms Hurley.
Rockwell Automation University Online is the company's newest approach to interactive, self-paced, self-directed training. For more information, or to purchase an e-Pass, contact Rockwell Automation on 1800 809 929 or visit the training section at www.rockwellautomation.com.au.
