ROCKWELL Automation has extended its growing Allen-Bradley PowerFlex drive family with the new PowerFlex 4 ac microdrive series.
Available in power ratings from 0.2 to 3.7kW and voltage classes of 115, 230 and 480V, the PowerFlex 4 is designed to meet demands of flexibility, space savings, and ease of use.
The new microdrive boasts QuickStart functionality and a keypad with a local potentiometer for easy control. Ideal for installation in machines and control panels, the PowerFlex 4 provides easy access to terminal blocks, ensuring simple, straightforward wiring.
The microdrive is available in an IP20 compact package style that can be either DIN rail or panel mounted. An optional IP30 kit provides added application flexibility.
The compact PowerFlex 4 also allows 'Zero Stacking' -- a design feature that permits the drive to be mounted side by side, saving valuable panel space.
To help meet EMC requirements, an integral filter version is available for single-phase 230V designs, further reducing the drive's footprint.
The Allen-Bradley PowerFlex family of ac drives -- PowerFlex 4, PowerFlex 70 (0.37kW to 15kW), PowerFlex 700 (0.75kW to 30kW at initial release), and PowerFlex 7000 medium voltage (373 to 3,000kW) -- offers significant commonality of operator interface, programming, hardware, and networks.
