THE Allen-Bradley PanelView standard operator interface family now offers Ethernet/IP networking capability.
This enables the PanelView interface from Rockwell Automation to be incorporated into a complete Ethernet-for-automation network, offering real-time control, device configuration, diagnostic information and multi-vendor inter-operability.
Ethernet/IP connectivity is available across the range of PanelView standard models (550 and 550 Touch, 600 and 600 Touch, 900, 1000 and 1400), permitting each terminal to communicate to multiple Allen-Bradley PLC-5E, SLC-5/05 and ControlLogix processors, as well as other Ethernet/IP devices. Ethernet/IP network addresses can be DHCP/Boot P, DNS or manually configured.
PanelView with Ethernet/IP provides all essential services in control and device-level networks--including open Ethernet/IP protocol, messaging services and I/O control, RJ-45 media connector for 10/100 Mbps twisted pair, and 10/100 auto negotiation.
PanelBuilder32 software supports the entire family of PanelView standard terminals, allowing easy conversion and re-use of existing applications.
In fact, it is easy to convert a PanelBuilder32 application from DF1, DH-485, DH Plus and ControlNet to Ethernet/IP through the terminal set-up.
The PanelBuilder32 online help feature provides information on both network conversion and the uses of the various service codes. Rockwell Automation 03 9896 0300.
