THE Hopper bar has made Smart Snacks a Confectionery finalist in the FOOD Magazine Challenge Awards, proudly sponsored by Rockwell Automation .
Designed for busy people looking for a healthy convenient snack, the bars are a gourmet ‘grab and go’ style food, and provide nutritional goodness.
The once niche healthy snack sector has experienced growth recently, driven by public concerns for excessive, sugar-laden products targeting children.
According to the company, the bars were created in response to a deficiency in the nutritious snack market.
Growing health concerns associated with diet encouraged the company to produce the low fat, reduced carbohydrate bars, which use ingredients such as barley, wheat and alfalfa grasses.
Smart Snacks is at the forefront of innovation, having developed the Hopper, which according to the company, has similar nutrients to those found in dark green leafy vegetables.
The Hopper is wrapped in a high quality laminated film for maximum shelf life, and the graphics and photography used on the packaging are innovative, focusing on ingredients, positioning the product as a premium over competitor’s transparent film packaged bars.
