Traditionally, machines and control cabinets have been built as separate units. This requires interconnection wiring between machine and control cabinet. ArmorStart allows the motor starter equipment to be installed directly on the machine.
It has a robust IP67 enclosure and provides reliable operation in environmentally demanding conditions, including wash-down environments. The integrated, machine-mount design requires less cabling, simplifies wiring, minimises panel space requirements, and allows faster and more accurate connections.
It is a pre-engineered, pre-configured combination motor starter that requires no additional enclosures. It features a modular, plug and play design for quick and reliable installation directly on or near the machine.
Four inputs are provided, plus two outputs and an optional keypad for local start/stop control and monitoring. The machine mount starter can be used for both non-reversing and reversing applications, with motors ranging from 0.75kW to 7.5kW at 50Hz/60Hz. Motor voltages range from 200Vac to 460Vac. Control voltages of 24Vdc, 120Vac or 240Vac can be accommodated.
ArmorStart's machine-mount design saves maintenance and operations costs. With its pre-tested, quick-connect wiring assembly, starter problems can be isolated quickly. Starters and I/O can be replaced local to the machine, rather than in complex, remotely located control panels. This speeds installation and troubleshooting, cuts engineering costs and reduces wiring errors common in point-to-point wiring systems.
