The welding expo will feature live demonstrations of arc-welding and plasma cutting on aluminium, stainless and mild steel.

With up to 20 systems in demonstration, this will be one of the large robotic welding events and is to be held in the large automation centre, at Robotic Automation's system construction and testing facility, Knoxfield Victoria.

The exhibition will feature the latest technology from Motoman and OTC Robotics, as well as Expo partners CIGWELD and BOC.

The welding expo will feature live demonstrations of arc-welding and plasma cutting on aluminium, stainless and mild steel highlighting:

Laser-tracking: Allows instantaneous detection and adjustment to surface variation during the weld on unprepared surfaces and butt-joints, which will reveal greater consistency, tolerance and productivity

Welding cells: Standard welding v-cell and rotator-cell packages to suit many applications T

hrough-arc sensor tracking: Constant monitoring during each weld to detect and adjust to random variations in the metal surface or heat distortion of the work-piece during the weld, which results in better weld quality

Servo-torch: Technology for finely controlled wire-feeding showing better weld consistency

The SKS welder: New technology in high-speed welding for higher productivity

Synchro-MIG: Finely-controlled variation of current during the welding weave to allow heavy and light welding in the same weld-pool great for joining pieces of different gauge

Touch-sensor start: Current-activated positioning at the wire-tip to automatically detect and adjust to the positioning variations between parts for greater tolerance, quality control and higher productivity

Retract-start function: Automatically reduces arc start failure and maintenance for greater productivity

And more: See how robotic welding systems meet the challenge of thin-gauge welding, how inverted mounting options increase the working envelope with greater access to the work-piece

Displays of expo-partners:

CIGWELD - Featuring the robot-compatible Transmig SP series digital synergic pulse welding system, includes live demonstrations of the performance benefits

BOC - Featuring live demonstrations with different welding gases and their effects, plus a cost versus productivity analysis
