Open Day at Robotic Automation
Following the opening of Australia’s largest automation centre in 2004, Robotic Automation recently held its 2005 Open Day at this same 10,000 square metre facility in Knoxfield, Melbourne.

The facility and demonstrations at the Robotic Automation Open Day.
This invitation-only event was attended by more than 200 manufacturing, processing, and logistics professionals from across Australia.
The event was dedicated to specific applications in food and beverage, wineries, paper and pulp processing, and packaging industries.
The feature demonstrations included:
* Robotic palletising.
* Materials handling.
* Robotic packaging and labelling.
* High-speed stretch-wrapping (semi and fully automatic).
* PLC/control; SCADA; and safety systems.
Using case examples, the consulting division of Robotic Automation, RA Consulting, showcased the advanced computer simulation and visualisation capabilities of the in-house CAD design centres and engineering teams.
This service allows customers to fully prove an automation solution prior to any construction and aids customers to communicate the project effectively to their own network of internal stakeholders.
Robotic demonstrations utilising workspaces and workloads both large and small were also in action.
The increased speed and refined technology of the latest Motoman HP Series robots impressed visitors, as did the array of multi-purpose grippers - from the flexible vacuum Unigrippers to the more customised and application-specific servo-forks, and pneumatic claws.
Visitors were WOW-ed by the stretch-wrapping whirlwind that is the Robopac Genesis, a fully automatic, state-of-the-art machine capable of wrapping up to 120 pallets per hour.
A new addition to the popular Rotoplat series of semi-automatic stretch-wrappers, the LPA, which offers time-saving remote control activation – also surprised and delighted many.
