Gainsborough, world leader in the manufacture and distribution of fine quality door furniture, are long-term users of robotics to ensure high volume production and consistent quality. In the early 90's, Gainsborough purchased a Motoman robot from Robotic Automation Pty Ltd and have applied it since to the manufacturing of handles, key locks, passage sets, mortice locks, locksets, door closers, general hardware and complementary accessories.

Gainsborough now have well over half a dozen Motoman robots in constant use in a range of applications including unloading die-casting machines, pressing, trimming and polishing of individual products. The main Gainsborough production site operates 24 hours a day and places high demands on its machinery, including the Motoman robots.

"Over the years, we have continued to buy Motoman robots in order to minimise operator training”, explains Harry Lambrou, Engineering Manager at Gainsborough. “ With the last two projects in particular, Robotic Automation have proven invaluable in giving Gainsborough advice on robotic cell safety."

Robotic Automation are leaders in robotic technology and offer a complete turnkey service; site evaluation, design, supply of all automation equipment, installation, commissioning, operator training, and after sales support.
