One such company produces scaffolding for the local market and Roboserv was able to add purpose built tooling to their existing robotic cell, and then program the unit for maximum output.
The procedure involved close consultation with the client to ensure everyone had a clear understanding of what was required and, as with the majority of welding robot systems, the components used in the final product were not ideally suited to automated welding.
Therefore Roboserv had to improve the accuracy and consistency of the pre-welding processes from simple overall lengths to re-designed press tooling and the introduction of a handling robot to assist in the press-tool process.
Roboserv was able to assist the company evaluate the robot cells available to help in the purchasing decision. The position of robot cells in the factory to optimise flow through as well as the design and manufacture of jigs to suit the product and robot.
Roboserv also helped design and manufacture the gripper to handle the product and assisted in the design of the press tooling. Roboserv assisted in the re-think of other sub-component production methods and helped programme the welding and handling robots.
Roboserv has recently become an official channel partner for the re-sale of ABB robots.
