Risk Management Institution of Australasia (RMIA) champions management of risk

Supplier News
The Risk Management Institution of Australasia (RMIA) describes itself as the largest professional association and peak body for risk management in the Asia-Pacific region.

RMIA defines its mission as to "maximise members' career opportunities by championing the management of risk."

Members of the Association are drawn from every sector of the economy and all levels of government, with most members located in Australasia, though international membership is growing.

One of the key benefits of RMIA membership is the ability for members to connect with fellow professionals, providing less experience risk professionals with the opportunity to mix with more experience colleagues who are genuine in their desire to share practices, procedures and learning.

This linkage between members is expressed in a range of ways, most prominently through:
  • special interest groups and the creation of new Chapters
  • education and accreditation to professional designations of Certified Risk Management Technician (CRMT) and Certified Practising Risk Manager (CPRM)
  • professional development (including its premier annual conference); and
  • regular publications.
A not-for-profit company, RMIA is governed by a Board of directors elected by the membership and is assisted by the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF), in accordance with the service agreement.
