PRISM, represented in Australia by Rheology Solutions , has developed a simple technique for evaluating dispersion of pigments or the effectiveness of dispersion aids. It uses a small bench-mounted twin-screw compounder.
Using a repeatable technique it gives a quick evaluation to compare a pigment sample against a known standard. The results can be automatically downloaded in spreadsheet format to a computer for storage and analysis. This is particularly useful when ISO 9000 and other quality standards are adopted.
It uses a small quantity of pigment, reducing the time and cost of the test. It is programmable, minimising the opportunity for operator variation. A full copy of this test method is available on request.
