Formed in 1993, the Refrigerated Warehouse & Transport Association of Australia Ltd (RWTA) represents the warehousing and transport sectors involved in the storage, distribution and Australian Cold Chain sectors.

It originated from the Cold Storage Association of Australia (CSAA) and various state-based cold storage associations.

Members of the RWTA comprise of leading suppliers of products and services from major corporate companies and SMEs in the warehousing and transport sectors.The Association provides a forum and opportunity for all its members to discuss industry conditions, requirements and other issues affecting the sector.

The RWTA publishes various publications:
  • Cold Running newsletter: contains industry information, government bulletins, industry news, regulatory updates and information on the progress of industry agenda items. 
  • The Australian Cold Chain Guidelines: Published in collaboration with the Australian Food & grocery Council and Australian Retailers Association. The Guidelines are designed to assist the development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of systems to meet the basic Cold Chain requirements and ensure the safety and quality of chilled and frozen foods. 
  • The Australian Cold Chain Food Safety Programmes: Useful reference material for the Australian Cold Chain sector. Includes information on food safety programs in accordance with the HACCP.
The annual RWTA National Conference and Exhibition will be held at Peppers/Mantra Salt Resorts in Kingscliff NSW from 29-31 August 2012. The event benefits members by way of keynote speakers from general commercial and government backgrounds, and to participate in a variety of networking and social activities.
