Reflex Handling and Storage recently completed the installation of chrome wire shelving in the new emergency department at The Manning Base Hospital at Taree. The installation of 21 bays of 1.8m high dust free wire shelving and sliding baskets was completed in 3 days.
The Manning Base Hospital was seeking a solution that provided safe, secure storage of emergency hospital supplies, whilst avoiding the potential problem associated with gathering dust on steel shelves.
According to Stuart Fletcher, Reflex Handling and Storage, members of the Maitland OH&S committee visited the Manning Base Hospital during installation and they requested Reflex Handling and Storage to visit their hospital to review similar issues in their emergency and sterile areas.
The OH&S Manager at The Manning Base Hospital highlighted the dust problem, and Reflex Handling and Storage was requested to develop, design and implement a solution.
Reflex Handling and Storage also recently completed the relocation and installation of large compactus units in the new administration centre at Cardiff in Newcastle for the HNEAS. It is anticipated that further installations will be occurring in the Hunter New England Area Health Region (HNEAHS).
