A wide range of the new manufacturing products, services and technologies from Australia and overseas will be showcased at 2008’s National Manufacturing Week, which will be held from Tuesday May 27 to Friday May 30, at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre.
Owned and organised by Reed Exhibitions , National Manufacturing Week 2008 covers major aspects of the manufacturing sector in one fully integrated event, incorporating an exhibition, seminars and information sessions and related industry association forums and meetings.
According to John Gorton, Reed Exhibitions’ Group Director – industrial events, National Manufacturing Week makes it easy for Australia's manufacturing industry decision-makers to source the new solutions for their business.
“NMW is a proven ‘one-stop show’ from Australia’s industrial exhibition organiser, and if anyone hasn’t yet marked it in their diary, now is the time to do it,” said John Gorton.
“Many exhibitors have indicated that they will be using NMW 2008 to launch their new products or services onto the Australian market – ensuring that visitors will have the opportunity to see new products that they haven’t previously seen.
“Companies wishing to maintain a competitive edge in Australian and global markets will find NMW 2008 plays an essential part in bringing new products and services to the marketplace,” he said.
Pavilions within NMW give individual industry sectors opportunities to promote their products and services to specific visitor groups.
The NMW has the ability to incorporate a large number of pavilions, and the 2008 edition of the exhibition will see this concept continuing to grow, with new pavilions at NMW 2008 to include:
Both will be closely integrated with Automation & Robotics, a new pavilion introduced in 2006.
Brief details of these follow
Electrix: the definitive showcase for the electrical industry, this pavilion is endorsed by the Australian Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association (AEEMA), and will feature a comprehensive range of high-tech products, services and technologies for the electrical sector.
Austronics: Australia's premier electronics industry exhibition, this pavilion is endorsed and supported by peak industry associations including the Australian Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association (AEEMA) and the Surface Mount and Circuit Board Association (SMCBA), and will showcase the new electronics solutions for the manufacturing sector.
Automation & Robotics: Complementing Electrix and Austronics, this pavilion has been a fast-growing sector of NMW since being launched in 2006, with many of the major companies exhibiting again in 2008.
“With manufacturers looking to the new technology for efficiency and quality – and to cope with skills shortages – many are increasingly considering automation and robotics to meet their requirements, and the demands of their customers,” said John Gorton.
“From simple controls to full ‘lights-out’ systems, some of the biggest productivity improvements in a manufacturing facility can be achieved using the leading-edge technology on display at NMW,” he said.
These pavilions will line up alongside the other exhibitions at NMW, including:
- AIEE (general manufacturing)
- Air Technology
- Austech (machine tools – organised by AMTIL)
- CIMTech (computer technology)
- Health & Safety
- ICEX (process, control & instrumentation)
- WeldTech (welding, joining and heat-treatment equipment)
