Orwak Australia will present an information display about the new Morinders Brickman B900K briquette press on stand 3009 during the MATEX 2007 warehouse and materials handling exhibition, to be held in conjunction with National Manufacturing Week at Melbourne Exhibition & Exhibition Centre, May 22 to May 25.
The first Brickman B900K briquette press in Australia was purchased by Victorian meat-packing company SRS in 2006. SRS needed an efficient method of disposing of cardboard boxes in the wet room where staff unpack meat.
To reduce the footprint of the B900K so that it could fit in the wet room, Orwak carried out modifications so that the power pack was elevated on a subframe above the press. Orwak also upgraded the B900K’s electricals to the IP65 standard to cope with the room’s moisture level.
Boxes are thrown into the B900K’s 2 cubic metre feeding hopper, and the briquetting process is activated by means of a photocell. The resultant extrusions, which measure 200 sq mm, are dropped through a shute into a standard 660 litre waste bin.
While the B900K is quite big to demonstrate at MATEX, Orwak will be providing information about the B900K as well as showing the actual cardboard briquettes produced by the B900K briquette press.
Orwak specialises in compaction and baling solutions for solid waste material at source. Orwak develops, manufactures and markets a comprehensive range of waste compactors and baling systems for recyclable materials that make waste management more profitable.
