The world came to Melbourne yesterday when no less than 18 countries were represented by visitors at National Manufacturing Week (NMW) on the first day of the show.
NMW, the largest and only event of its kind for the manufacturing sector in Australia, has attracted visitors from China, Denmark, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Norway, Peru, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, and the USA.
Reed Exhibitions industrial group manager John Gorton said the spread of visitors from overseas further reinforced the importance of the Australian manufacturing industry in setting benchmarks for technology and solutions.
"The interest in NMW from overseas companies also demonstrates the important role this event plays in providing a comprehensive showcase for Australian industry on a global platform."
National Manufacturing Week 2005 is at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre from May 10 to 13. For further information visit http://www.nmw.reedexhibitions.com.au/
