Lewis Pulleys to display new ventilated pulley at AIMEX

Lewis Pulleys will display the new Birn VTP ventilated turbo pulley on Stand S150 during AIMEX 2007 – Asia Pacific’s International Mining Exhibition, to be held at Sydney’s Olympic Park from September 4 to 7, 2007.

Compared to conventional V-belt pulleys, the VTP pulley is up to 50% lighter, has less internal tension, allows up to twice the belt speed (to 100m/sec) and can lower belt temperatures by up to 17°C due to its ventilated grooves (a 10°C reduction theoretically doubles the belt life).

The Autophoretic Coating Chemicals (ACC) surface coating on the pulleys adds a higher chemical resistance to oil, petrol, brake fluid and lubricants, and exceptional physical properties of the cured film (6H-pencil hardness).

Primer and final coat paint can be applied direct to the ACC surface coating. The process is environmentally friendly, being free of any air-borne pollutants.
