Astra will launch a new range of Iveco dump trucks on Stand 305 during AIMEX 2007 – Asia Pacific’s International Mining Exhibition, to be held at Sydney’s Olympic Park from September 4 to 7, 2007.
The Italian-built range of rigid frame and articulated dump trucks are available in a range of capacities from 28 tonnes to 40 tonnes (rigid frame) and 25 tonnes to 40 tonnes (articulated).
Automatic transmission provides optimum driving performance at all times, as well as ensuring maximum operator safety.
A feature of Astra dump trucks is joint control of the brake and the VGT (Variable Geometry Turbocharger) constant top level performance, ensuring optimal retardation. Power comes from IVECO Cursor engines, operating on the principal of Millar value timing in conjunction with electronically managed intake manifold pressures.
Coupled with electronic unit injectors, these features ensure high torque levels throughout the engine speed range with efficient fuel burn, according to Astra.
Frames for both the rigid frame and ADT units are built using high-strength steel plates, box-section stiffeners and tough widen cross members, allowing them to cope in tough applications.
Astra dump trucks will be supported by a nationwide network of distributors, details of which will be announced at AIMEX.
