RedPrairie has announced today that leading logistics service provider SCA Transforest has implemented Warehouse Management at seven of its European terminals, with two remaining sites to go live in the next month.
As a result of the implementation of Warehouse Management, SCA Transforest has benefited from lower distribution costs and streamlined warehouse processes. The company is now serving numerous forestry product customers and can offer logistics services to other industries, something that was unachievable with the old warehouse management system which supported forest products only.
Twelve potential vendors were evaluated, explains Thomas Granberg, System Owner at SCA Transforest. “We selected the solution from RedPrairie because we identified that its vast range of functionality would give us the best long term cost efficiency, and more importantly it would give us the flexibility we needed to run an agile and modern logistics operation, now and in the future.”
The solution is now live in Sweden, Finland, Ireland, the Netherlands, and United Kingdom, with sites in Portugal and Germany to go live by September 2009.

SCA Transforest is part of SCA’s Forest Products business area, which produces publication papers for newspapers, magazines and catalogues, pulp, solid-wood products and forest-based biofuels.
