RedPrairie have announced that SANNA-LITIER Group, have gone live with RedPrairie’s warehouse management solution at their 9505sqm logistics centre LITIER Domodedovo, close to one of Russia’s largest airports.
The implementation at LITIER Domodedovo is the first of seven planned at all the LITIER network A-class warehouses. As a result, SANNA-LITIER Group will manage the operations of LITIER multimodal logistics network with warehousing space of more than 500,000sqm. A total of 800 operatives will eventually use the solution, which is fully localised for Russia and integrated with SANNA-LITIER’s back office systems. Russian logistics expert and RedPrairie partner Avant-Garde Communications (AgCom) provided on-site support during the implementation.
SANNA-LITIER Group are already seeing the benefits of lower operating overheads with RedPrairie’s automated yard management, storage optimisation and real-time stock taking capabilities. Paper-based putaway and picking have been replaced by hand-held RDT scanners resulting in improved operator productivity, accuracy and faster throughput. The company will be able to add new functionality from RedPrairie’s solution suite to meet the sophisticated needs of customers as their business expands.
SANNA-LITIER Group chose RedPrairie over a number of other leading vendors for their configurable applications and ability to meet the different warehousing needs of multiple clients in a single solution. RedPrairie’s itemised billing capabilities ensure invoicing transparency while self-service, Web-based system access allows customers to track the status of all consignments in real time. The solution will reduce transit time, improve security and cut storage costs.
With 17 years experience, SANNA-LITIER Group provides a full range of logistics services including A-class warehousing, road, rail and ocean haulage, customs brokerage and consulting. The first phase of the project involves the construction of six large A-class logistics complexes in the European part of Russia:
- Four A-class logistics centres in Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod and Rostov-on-Don
- Two integrated river port and warehouse logistics complexes in Dmitrov (Moscow region) and Kaliningrad
Total warehouse space will be in excess of 500,000sqm and different temperature zones from -24º to +18º ? will be available. The fresh and deep frozen area will total around 130,000sqm. The A-class warehouse complex LITIER Domodedovo started operations in the first quarter of 2008.
