RedPrairie Corporation has released that Publix Supermarkets will implement its Workforce Optimisation suite. The system will provide scheduling technology in all Publix Supermarkets stores, at approximately 900 locations.
The solution includes innovative features that leverage the full Workforce Optimisation suite, including: time and attendance, business forecasting, labour demand planning, automated optimised scheduling, associate self service, dashboards with configurable alerts and computer based training.
The scheduling engine uses engineered labour standards along with historical sales, traffic patterns, special events, fixed tasks, and other items such as cases and pharmacy prescriptions to provide an accurate view of labour required to meet customer and task-driven demand throughout the entire store.
Employee roles, availability, and preferences are automatically aligned with labour demand to produce fully optimised work schedules that are then tracked against the system’s time and attendance tools.
Kim Eaton, President, RedPrairie Retail Productivity Solutions division stated, “For over 75 years, Publix Supermarkets has provided excellent service to its communities and additionally is a great place to work and shop. They are the largest and fastest-growing employee-owned supermarket chain, so getting the workforce equation right is a key component of their continued success. We are proud that Publix Supermarkets has entrusted RedPrairie to deliver on this initiative, and we are excited about the positive result RedPrairie will provide for Publix Supermarkets.”
