RedPrairie , a productivity software provider, has announced Diamond Comics, the world’s largest distributor of English-language comics, graphic novels, and pop-culture related merchandise, has completed its implementation of RedPrairie’s Warehouse Management solution in their primary North American distribution centre. Diamond had previously implemented RedPrairie’s Workforce Management solution in its facilities, and was looking to take the next step to optimize its distribution centre’s operations as a whole.

“Our major objective, at the outset, was to move from a totally paper-based system to enhanced RF/voice operations,” says Cindy Fournier, Diamond Comics VP of Operations. “In addition, the solution had to provide for smart slotting and putaway, as well as advanced carbonisation to reduce the total number of packages, and lay the foundation for ASN. Based on our successful prior relationship, we selected RedPrairie’s Warehouse Management solution to meet our overall needs.”

RedPrairie’s Warehouse Management solution provides an enhanced set of features specially designed to lower costs and improve service for high-volume distributors. With advanced inventory management – including functionality for slotting, replenishment, and special handling – the solution enables totally optimized distribution from packaging to shipment.

“Efficient, effective, and low-cost are three major objectives distributors strive for in their daily operations,” says RedPrairie CEO Mike Mayoras. “Our solutions continue to help our customers, like Diamond, achieve these goals, providing for increased productivity every day.”

Diamond Comic Distributors was established in 1982 to provide comic book specialty retailers with wholesale, non-returnable comic books and related merchandise.

After more than 20 years of service, Diamond has emerged as the world's largest distributor of English-language comics, graphic novels, and related pop-culture merchandise, with a network of strategically-located Distribution Centres throughout the world.

Our Founder and President, Steve Geppi, doesn't believe in second-place efforts. He knows that Diamond's success comes from offering retail customers the best — in products, in discounts, and in personalized customer service. That's why we bring our customers the merchandise they want at a fair price, and deliver it to them quickly, accurately, and reliably.

Above all, Diamond treats its customers with one important thing: respect.
