RedPrairie held their third annual international customer conference and exhibition on 16 to17 September 2008. Supply chain and retail professionals gathered at RedPrairie’s ‘Extreme Performance’ the RedShift International, which took place at St. John's Hotel in Solihull, Birmingham, UK.
RedPrairie customers from 14 countries united to share examples of how they have achieved ‘Extreme Performance’ in their operations and the lessons learned in the process.
Customer keynote sessions featured Peter Voorhoeve, SCM Programme Director, Volvo Parts, presented how Volvo Parts are currently rolling out RedPrairie’s WMS solution as a global standard across 35 countries and six continents, and Steve Walker, Supply Chain Solutions Director EMEA and CIO Middle East, DHL, presented how DHL established a distribution centre in two weeks under extreme conditions in the desert of Kuwait.
Microsoft, who was the diamond sponsor of the event, held a keynote session on how leading edge technology from Microsoft and RedPrairie enabled supply chains to react to consumer demand in real-time. A total of thirty different sessions were held and featured speakers from customers including Carphone Warehouse, Davies Turner, Mitchells & Butlers, Oxford University Press and TDG.
A guest keynote was given by the polar explorer, Ben Saunders. Ben is the youngest person to ski single handedly to the North Pole and shared his experiences of performing under extreme conditions. An evening cocktail reception and gala dinner took place at the Birmingham Town Hall, a historic piece of architecture that had recently undergone a renovation.
Martin Hiscox, Vice Chairman of the Board, Managing Director and President at International, RedPrairie, commented that their international customers were provided with an opportunity to meet and learn from each other’s experiences and it had been very rewarding speaking to our customers and receiving their positive feedback. Customers of RedPrairie have achieved some remarkable results and as new challenges arise, RedPrairie and their unique E2e solution suite will continue to support customers towards future extreme achievements.
