Heavy duty hose reels from ReCoila Reels are being heavily tested by a Tasmanian salmon fishing company in a marine refuelling application.
ReCoila reels are being tested by Tassal at two of its 11 ports dotted around Tasmania.
ReCoila’s heavy duty reels are being used for refuelling purposes at these two ports, positioned on custom built skids for refuelling the salmon fishing vessels.
Managing Director of ReCoila, Mr Michael Pawson comments that the demands on any equipment in this salt water environment and cold climate are genuine.
Though ReCoila has been in the market for more than 20 years, the influx of much cheaper options in recent times is tempting companies to compromise durability and quality factors. Mr Pawson is pleased that Tassal is thinking long term performance by testing ReCoila’s reels.
He adds that having top notch equipment at its refuelling stations means Tassal is highly unlikely to suffer any downtime at this point of its operations.
The solution customised for Tassal is based on ReCoila’s T-Series hose reels to suit 60 metres of 1-inch hose.
Trials at the two refuelling stations are going well and their success would lead to similar solutions being customised and manufactured for the other nine stations around the State.
Models in the T Series reels used in this trial fuel station project are of heavy gauge metal construction. The T-Series range is available in power, hand and spring rewind options, and can be customised for many requirements such as transfer of fuels and lubricants, general fluid handling, large truck servicing, watering, high-volume compressed air, food transfer and fire-fighting services.
All the reels in this range are fabricated from welded, heavy gauge steel plate to ensure rigidity and strength. ReCoila Reels’ hose reels are available in carbon steel, stainless steel 304 and 316 or aluminium.
