The Drive Recorder is an intelligent video recording system with two advanced CMOS based 170-degree solid state video systems.  It offers a combined 340 degree recordable viewing range. The Video Drive Recorder provides GPS enhanced video recording. The recorder is capable of detecting a collision and sudden acceleration or braking conditions using a 3 axis accelerometer. It records compressed MPEG4 video data at 16 frames per second at a full VGA resolution of 640 x 480. 

The GPS system continually logs vehicle speed, trajectory and location co-ordinates. The Video Drive Recorder comes with Windows PC software to view GPS data and video files simultaneously. This Drive Recorder can be used by racing drivers, police officers and security services. Its other applications include rental and hire car monitoring, taxi driver security, truck fleet monitoring and accident investigation. It is also useful to have in public transportation vehicles and rally cars. Its intelligent recording provides 1, 2 or 3 minute footage before an event or accident, as well as 1 minute afterwards. The Video Drive Recorder is now available with real time Google Maps correlation. This recorder is supplied standard with a 2 GB SD memory card for up to 60-90 minutes of recording, depending on the recording resolution.
