RS Components (RS) and Allied Electronics (Allied) have been appointed the authorised global distribution partner for electronic components vendor ROHM Semiconductor. RS and Allied are the trading brands of Electrocomponents plc.
RS and Allied hold a sizeable inventory of several hundred ROHM components, including discrete semiconductors, power management ICs, LEDs, display drivers, optical switches, video and audio processor circuits, and sensor devices. These devices are extensively deployed in a wide array of automotive, telecommunication, computer and consumer applications.
The authorised distributor status bolsters RS and Allied’s alliance with ROHM, providing a platform for the two companies to substantially broaden the selection of ROHM parts available direct from stock at the distributor's global warehouses.
Jonathan Boxall, Global Head of Semiconductors at RS Components, explains that consolidating relationships with suppliers such as ROHM will help the company sustain high levels of product availability for their customers, now and in the future.
Masaki Sakai, Director of Euro-American Sales at ROHM adds that sourcing and purchasing ICs for complex designs is a time-consuming task for engineers due to their broad product portfolio. RS and Allied’s appointment as an authorised distribution partner will simplify this process, giving ROHM customers online access to more and more of their devices, and allowing more efficient response to growing demand.
