SUNOL Sciences Corporation, distributed in Australia by RFI Industries , has released two surface mount turntables, models SM2015C and SM46C.
The turntables are non-conductive, have table diameters of 2 metres and 1.2 metres respectively and running loads of 680 and 360kg.
Being surface mount eliminates the requirement for a pit, and the low tabletop heights of 7.6cm and 5cm respectively ensure easy access. A cable access between turntable top and bottom is provided to allow power and signal cables from the e.u.t to be connected.
The turntables are designed for both indoor and outdoor use and feature an electrically shielded motor box. The customer can specify separation between motor box and table. Self-cleaning fixed rollers are incorporated into the drive mechanism.
The turntables utilise a non-slip drive belt instead of a drive shaft which increases position accuracy which is specified at one degree. Variable speed capability is standard on both models.
The interface between turntable and controller is by optic fibre cable, thus eliminating a potential source of interference.
