RFI Industries has released a new family of broadband solid-state products from Amplifier Research, starting with two amplifiers that satisfy the need for low power applications up to 10.6GHz.
The AR Model 5S4G11 and Model 1S4G11 are the only solid-state amplifiers for laboratory and EMC testing with a bandwidth of 4.0 to 10.6GHz.
These two new amplifiers and the higher-power versions that will follow will set new standards for microwave solid-state amplifiers.
The AR Model 5S4G11 is a solid state, self-contained, air-cooled broadband amplifier that delivers a minimum of 5 watts of RF power when used with a sweep generator.
Its frequency response is 4.0 to 10.6GHz instantaneously, which gives users room to grow as specifications and requirements demand higher frequencies.
With wireless markets continuing to operate at higher frequencies, and EMC requiring higher frequencies, this new family of solid-state amplifiers is ready to meet emerging standards.
In addition to its frequency response, the 5S4G11 has some very impressive specs:
* Power output at 3dB compression: 7 watts, nominal; 5.5 watts minimum.
* Power output at 1dB compression: 6 watts, nominal; 4.5 watts minimum.
* Flatness: +2.0dB typical; +3.0dB maximum.
* Gain: 37dB at maximum setting.
* Harmonic distortion: -20dBc maximum at 5 watts.
The Model 1S4G11 broadband amplifier has similar features to the 5S4G11. It provides a minimum of 1 watt of RF power when used with a sweep generator.
