M/A-Com, represented by RF Parts in Australia, have introduced the new 20 Watt broadband HMIC PIN diode SPDT Switch for WiMAX, LTE and other high linearity/power applications.
According to Kevin Harrington, Product Development Manager, M/A-COM Technology Solutions, the new 20 Watt broadband HMIC PIN diode SPDT switch offers good power handling in a small package, while maintaining low loss and high isolation across a wide frequency range. The new MASW-000825-12770T HMIC PIN diode switch provides global customer base with a high-quality product that will perform seamlessly with the technologies of today and the future.
The compact 3mm PQFN package of the MASW-000825-12770T offers the smallest high-power solution in the industry. The package also offers broadband 50MHz to 6GHz operation with excellent isolation to insertion loss ratio for both Tx and Rx states. The 20 Watt broadband HMIC PIN diode SPDT switch achieves almost 30dB of Tx to Rx isolation with less than 0.3dB of associated insertion loss and 64dBm IIP3 for the 2.3GHz to 2.7GHz WiMAX Band while reliably handling up to 20 Watts of CW power.
This device incroporates a PIN diode fabricated with M/A-Com’s patented Silicon-Glass HMIC process. This chip features two silicon pedestals embedded in a low loss, low dispersion glass. The diodes are formed on the top of each pedestal. The topside is encapsulated with silicon nitride and has an additional polymer passivation layer. These polymer protective coatings prevent damage and contamination during handling and assembly.
