RADIOMETRIX, represented by RF Modules Australia , has introduced the NiM2, a narrow band UHF transceiver module that offers a low-power data link in the company’s standard transceiver pin-out and footprint.

The device’s specifications make it suitable for power frugal applications where existing single frequency wideband UHF modules lack sufficient range.

Data rates of up to 10Kbps, and distances over 500m can be supported.

The module delivers a transmit power of +10dBm (10mW), while its receiver sensitivity is -118dBm (for 12dB SINAD).

Standard frequencies provided are 434.65MHz and 434.075MHz, but custom versions, with frequencies occupying the 433MHz (EU licence-exempt) band are also available. Channel spacing is 25kHz.

The transmit section consists of an FM VCXO feeding a frequency multiplier and two-stage amplifier.

The receiver is a double conversion FM superjet with IF at 21.4MHz and 455kHz.

The signal path includes SAW-based RF filtering, which gives image rejection levels of 50dB or better.

The device conforms fully with both ETSI EN 300 220-3 (radio) and EN 301 489-3 (EMC) regulatory standards.

RF Modules Australia is a distributor of world class low power licence exempt VHF and UHF wireless OEM modules and other industrial control and monitoring equipment.
