Promi-SD Bluetooth serial adapters replace RS-232 cables


Sena Technologies, represented by RF Modules Australia , has released the Promi-SD range of Bluetooth Serial Adapters designed to replace RS-232 serial cables with wireless connectivity.

They enable a serial device to communicate with another Bluetooth adapter or other Bluetooth devices such as mobile phones, PDAs, and laptops. Ideal for industrial and building automation applications that require data logging, wireless sensor control and monitoring in production facilities.

RF Modules Australia stocks the Promi-SD range which includes the SD101 (Class 2) with internal battery, SD202 and SD205 (Class 1). No external drivers are required to use these modules and they can be configured simply with DIP switches (SD205) or a windows configuration tool (SD101 & SD202). They support the Bluetooth Serial Port Profile and the Generic Access Profile. They are ideal for any serial application with baud rates supported from 1200-230Kbps and a range of antenna options to give operating ranges up to 1000m.
