Engineering company RCR Tomlinson has secured a technology partnership and an exclusive licence with Kopex to distribute its range of surface mining and bulk materials handling equipment.
The licence agreement is for five years with optional extensions and covers territories in Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.
RCR’s role under the licence will include marketing, development, construction and assembly, installation, commissioning and after-sales support.
They will be looking after a range of Kopex technologies including stackers, reclaimers, ship loaders, crushers, belt conveyors, bucket wheel excavators, screens and in-pit crushing and conveying (IP2C) technologies for different mining processes.
“The Kopex agreement marks a significant strategic milestone for RCR’s mining equipment business,” RCR’s managing director Dr Paul Dalgleish said.
“We are very pleased to have secured this licence, which enhances our existing range of mining and materials handling equipment solutions far beyond what we had every envisaged for this business.
“This licence with Kopex enables RCR to be the first Australian company to be able to deliver the complete range of mining equipment and material handling products, which are currently supplied by off-shore companies, built specifically for Australian conditions and ores.”
