RCR International showcased a variety of products at the Sydney Safety Show 2012. In the video below, National Sales and Marketing Manager Scott Beel illustrates some of the key features of the company’s new DX5 gloves before introducing us to several models in RCR’s disposable coverall range.

As Scott mentions above, DX5 cut resistant gloves have been specifically designed to provide excellent cut abrasion and tear resistance without compromising the dexterity and touch of the glove.

These reusable and washable gloves are constructed from a blend of UHMWPE (Ultra-high-molecular-weight-polyethylene) and glass fibre with a PU (polyurethane) palm coating and feature level 5 cutting index performance.

They provide excellent grip, sensitivity and resistance to oils and greases and are suitable for use in a variety of applications including in:

  • metal industries
  • warehousing, pick and pack operations
  • automotive industry
  • general manufacturing
  • glass
  • plastics; and
  • the food industry.
RCR International stocks a full range of Pro-Val disposable coveralls to suit varying chemical and liquid protection requirements.

The first coverall mentioned in the video above is the Hazguard PP. Made from non woven polypropylene so that it is lightweight and breathable, this single layer coverall is an excellent solution for keeping clean, reducing decontamination and laundry costs. It does not however offer water resistant protection and is not deemed suitable for protection against a hazard.

The Hazguard SMS triple layer coverall is made from non woven polypropylene, spunbond, meltblown and spunbond. This triple layer matrix acts like a filter to keep out smaller particles. This is why Scott notes that the SMS is particularly well suited for those working with asbestos.

The coverall is water resistant and light weight but with added strength and tear resistance due to its triple layer construction.

The Hazguard MP4 coverall is waterproof and made from breathable microporous fabric. It offers excellent strength and tear resistance and features stitched and taped seams for a waterproof seal. Outer surfaces are lint free while the inner is non woven for improved comfort.

The MP4 also features fully elastic hood, ankles and wrists and is suitable for use in applications such as:

  • pesticide/insecticide spraying
  • chemical clean up
  • medical/forensic
  • emergency services
  • veterinary
  • food processing
  • fisheries
  • abattoirs
  • car industry
  • painting/spray painting
  • waste management
  • fibreglassing
  • resin application
  • road and transport workers; and
  • asbestos removal/demolition work.
The final coverall Scott discusses in the video is the Hazguard MP5. While it does not offer the same level of protection as the MP4, the MP5 coverall is still suitable for many hazardous applications. It is water resistant and made from a breathable microporous fabric with stitched seams for extra strength.
