RCR International Pty Ltd offers a range of general purpose polycotton gloves and respirators designed to offer protection against gardening hazards.
Gardening may be considered a leisure activity but it can come with various hazards. Wearing gloves is important when gardening to avoid nasty insects and bugs that may be lurking under the soil or rocks. Gloves also protect the user from sharp bushes and shrubs.
Grabbit gloves feature a crinkled rubber palm and fully coated rubber thumb for added protection. The textured rubber crinkle finish allows for good grab and excellent grip power. The glove is flexible, comfortable, reusable and washable.
RCR International also offers P2 respirators for use when working with potting mix to prevent the user from inhaling bacteria that cause Legionnaires disease.
Legionella longbeachae is common in the soil and potting mix. According to the NSW Government health department, people working with potting mix can reduce exposure to potting mix dust by following the manufacturer’s warning on the labels:
- Wet down the potting mix to reduce the dust
- Wear gloves and a P2 mask when using potting mix
- Wash your hands after handling potting mix or soil, and before eating, drinking or smoking
