Witte Far East, Asian subsidiary of Witte Bleckede, recently manufactured a Meisterbock for a Chinese car manufacturer. It is used to check fitting accuracy of all car outer sheet metal parts as well as hang-on parts of their latest model. At the same time the sequence of joining sheet metal parts as they are manufactured can be simulated.
Vacuum clamped workpieces friction-stir-welded together (20-Sep-2004)
WITTE Bleckede, represented in Australia by R&M Mauer, has developed a new kind of fixture on which 6mm thick and 100mm long prerolled aluminium sheets are clamped. The long edges of two such workpieces are then welded together using friction stir welding (FSW).
