R E Davison manufactures thermoset materials which are low cost and high performance thermoplastics. Thermoset materials have long term heat resistance and high heat distortion temperatures. Thermoset materials offer good dimensional stability and have standard gloss and uniform surfaces. Most thermosets are harder than thermoplastics and hence are resistant to scratch and abrasion. Thermosets have low flammability coupled with good electrical insulating and mechanical properties.
R E Davison offers thermoset materials are cost effective and have hard and scratch resistant surfaces. Thermoses are heavier than other thermoplastics and are used in consumer durables such as cookware, kitchenware and appliances. Thermoset materials provide complete freedom of design and construction, and can integrate components into one moulded part. Thermosets are resistant to corrosion and eliminate polishing, anodising, plating, galvanising or multi-coat paintings.
Duo-Clad, a part of R E Davison, uses a specially designed body lip which seals in flavour and prevents heat escape from the cookware. With the help of a special conductive core, heat is transferred from the cook top to the body core, which quickly attains a uniform temperature and eliminates hot spots. The food gets quickly and evenly heated from the entire body surface.
