Double sided tapes are supplied in a range of dimensions by Qualtape Australia , and have been designed to make a surface self adhesive so that it can be adhered to another surface.
Differing widely in their construction, double sided tapes are generally made up of three parts.
An adhesive is applied to the carrier on both sides, varying greatly from short term to long term, permanent to removable.
The carrier is the part of the tape that holds, or carries, the adhesive. It can be constructed from tissue paper, cloth, aluminium or plastic films, among other materials.
A liner covers the adhesive on double sided tapes, and is removed when the user wishes to stick two surfaces together. This liner is generally made from siliconised paper or plastic.
