Wireless phone jacks are used to add extensions to fax, telephone or even an EFTPOS terminal in another room or building, minus infrastructure and labour costs.
The base unit is plugged into the power point and connected to a telephone line. The wireless extension can be installed at the point where the communication line is required. The whole process takes less than a minute to set up.
Wireless phone jacks also support DECT/GAP handsets and repeaters. The user can install the wireless extension in any room without wires and extend that with up to three repeaters in a daisy chain configuration to enhance the range to up to 800 metres from base to extension.
Additionally, wireless phone jacks can support up to three wireless extensions (slaves) in addition to the primary extension. This is useful on large sites or in buildings with multiple floors.
CID and transfer functions are also available on each extension unit. A special modem mode is provided for EFTPOS devices.
