Newcastle-based company Protectelec has been awarded an AusIndustry COMET grant to assist with the commercialisation of the revolutionary Protex Switching Technology, a system that prevents electrocution and protects appliances from electrical damage.
COMET is part of the Federal Government's Backing Australia's Ability programme delivered by AusIndustry. COMET assists Australian companies with the commercialisation of new and emerging technologies.
Glenn Downey, Newcastle COMET business advisor, said COMET was designed to provide not only financial assistance but business support and guidance to Australian companies".
Wayne Callen, managing director of Protectelec, believes the "COMET grant will provide additional support and assistance to commercialise the Protex Switching Technology".
Mr Callen added that "Protectelec is extremely proud to be awarded the COMET grant and we look forward to delivering on the project goals".
