Pronto Software , have delivered an ERP system for Croxley Stationery. The ERP system has maximised the warehouse throughput and automated supply chain operations.
Croxley Stationery, New Zealand-based stationery manufacturers, supply a diverse product range including Collins diaries and calendars, Bostik glue sticks and Pilot pens to retail outlets and wholesalers in Australia and the Pacific Islands. In 2001, Croxley Stationery was acquired by Office Max.
According to Chief Financial Officer, Jonathan Gabriel, and Croxley Stationery’s fragmented IT environment was struggling to keep pace with the company’s growth plans. While finding an integrated system was mandatory, it was equally important to find a solution that would be as tailored to the manufacturing industry.
While most packages at Croxley Stationery could handle the distribution aspect, not many systems could also handle specific manufacturing requirements and Pronto was one the couple of potential systems. With an easy upgrade in late 2007, Coxley now uses core PRONTO-Xi functionality, without the need for any customisations. The user-friendly PRONTO-Xi, from a manufacturing perspective, could accommodate most system requirements, and this set it apart from other packages.
In October 2006, PRONTO-Xi went live on time and on budget. The PRONTO-Xi modules implemented include financials (general ledger, accounts payable and receivable), sales orders and manufacturing. As CFO, Gabriel found the implementation of PRONTO-Xi dramatically reduced the number of modifications needed to run the system. Croxley also found Pronto Software’s customer service and flexible approach beneficial.
As a result of deploying PRONTO-Xi, data is much quicker to access and easier to analyse. With PRONTO-Xi, Croxley have a much deeper visibility of key accounts, such as sales and stock integrity reports. The new system allows Croxley to complete reports in 1-2 days.
Gabriel is also impressed with PRONTO-Xi’s Warehouse Management System (WMS) module that has significantly reduced its order-to-dispatch cycle. Pronto provides tools to be able to manage and track stocks better, which has subsequently reduced the inventory level and boosted Croxley’s stock integrity.
PRONTO-Xi is now an integral part of the way Croxley does business. Gabriel also stated that Croxley find that PRONTO-Xi is constantly referred to in their daily dealings with customers and suppliers and people are finding it really easy to use. PRONTO-Xi is an intuitive system that non-IT people find easy to navigate.
The following are the key benefits of using PRONTO-Xi:
- Dramatic reduction in number of system modifications
- More streamlined reporting and reduction in reporting cycle time
- Greater stock control and integrity
- Computerised manufacturing planning boosting overall productivity
