PROMADIS has released a management control technology designed to remove guesswork from large-scale fresh food production. The system traces produce from paddock to plate.
The system is aimed at the fresh food industry and overcomes data traps faced by producers using conventional technology. Many traditional software control systems are designed for areas such as repetitive manufacturing. These systems require consistency in supply and in the rate at which products leave the plant. These systems can give inaccurate results when applied to Fresh foods like meat and seafood, which arrive at the plant in different sizes and weights.
The new software uses wireless broadband and barcode technology to track the product through the production process and supply chain so that manufacturers have accurate and up to date information. It gives producers access to real time data on production status and integrates with manufacturing, packaging, and dispatch.
