Supporting the world’s leading fieldbus technology in Australia
First developed in 1989, Profibus has evolved to become the world's most successful fieldbus protocol.

Today, Profibus dominates all sectors of industrial automation and boasts more devices in the field than all rival Fieldbus systems combined.

The continued success of Profibus can be attributed to its unique ability to significantly reduce costs over a plant's entire life cycle.

Certified Training and Technical Support for Profibus end-users
As the demand for automation grows throughout Asia Pacific, the Profibus Association of Australia (PAA) continues to play a major role in promoting and supporting the technology throughout the region.

Profibus experts are brought to Australia twice a year to conduct accredited training seminars. This ensures end-users are fully certified by Profibus International and familiar with the latest developments in the technology and its application.

The PAA provides end-users in the Process and Manufacturing sectors with technical support through the Profibus International Competence Centre to ensure the smooth operation of their plant.

PICC – Australia’s first Profibus International Competence Centre
The Profibus International Competence Centre (PICC) is Australia's only technical competence centre fully accredited by Profibus international.

The PICC ( profibuscentre.com.au) supports manufacturers in new product development, provides technical services and certified training for Profibus end-users and offers installation certification and commissioning services to ensure networks comply with international standards and work properly before commissioning.

The PICC Automation Centre at Smithfield contains a wide variety of control systems and instrumentation for potential Profibus users and suppliers to become acquainted with the technology using their devices of choice in a user-friendly environment.
