Professional Advantage helped Sims Metal Management deploy a range of Microsoft software solutions to resolve several infrastructure issues.
Sims Metal Management is one of the world's largest metals and electronic waste recyclers with over 230 sites on four continents.
Sims Metal Management decided to deploy Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager 2010, Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R2 and Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007 R2 in conjunction with their IT provider, Professional Advantage in early 2010.
The implementation eliminated the need to use multiple vendors and non-integrated systems while resolving some issues that were occurring with the previous solutions.
Johan Prinsloo, Solutions Architect with Professional Advantage says that reliability of backups is critical for any organisation. Sims Metal Management had used products from other major vendors in the past with limited success.
He added that Microsoft Data Protection Manager was recommended by Professional Advantage as it could perform reliable backups and provided a trustworthy solution as well as value for money from a disaster recovery point of view.
Ted Sisopha, Infrastructure Manager at Sims Metals said that Professional Advantage presented an integrated solution that covered all their requirements while enabling Sims to quickly understand the modules and costing.
Having experienced issues with backups and disaster recovery solutions in the past, Ted Sisopha was impressed by Professional Advantage's professionalism and depth of their in-house expertise.
