Productivity Australia’s lean training for Inghams
Inghams South Australia wanted their people, in particular their Senior and Middle Management, to learn the tools and skills associated with Lean Manufacturing.
Inghams felt that since as a business they need to supply value for money product and service, Lean thinking employees would give them an effective common view and strategy to achieve the objective.
Graham Eagles of Productivity Australia conducted a training programme for Inghams. Graham Eagles had a good practical approach and knowledge to the application of the Lean Tools.
Inghams have found that with previous training experiences, the theory was quickly forgotten as people cannot make the connection between that theory and the practical application of it.
Inghams found that Graham Eagles' guidance and teaching provided the hands on, applied skills and training outcome of particular good value to their business in their successful development and growth.
According to Des Hindson, General Manager of Inghams, Lean has a particular appeal because with the right training organisation and sensei, it can be taught to all people and not just the smartest people. It can have an immediate positive impact on the business and give a common way of thinking that gives common direction.
He concluded that unlike some training, if introduced correctly, it has an easy practical application in the workforce and as such does not get left in the training room.
