PRODUCTION Logistics has released the latest version of their real-time monitoring and visual scheduling software at Ausplas 2005 held in Melbourne from September 27 - 29, 2005.
AspectPL 6.4 is now installed and operating on 11 sites in New Zealand and Australia.
At Ausplas interest in the product was strong from both local and overseas plastic moulders.
Viscount Plastics, one of Australia's leading plastic moulders, have adopted AspectPL as their benchmark production planning and control tool. They have installed it in all but one of their Australasian plants and intend to extend its use to plants in China and South East Asia.
Visual Scheduling, combined with real-time monitoring, is a leading-edge tool for companies who are serious about improving productivity.
MRP or ERP systems fail to deliver unless the information which drives them is 100% right and this is where AspectPL excels, according to Production Logistics.
By monitoring output in real-time and recording cycle time, downtime reasons, rejects and product weight, companies who have installed AspectPL are reporting 6-10% improvements in Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) in the first 12 months of operation. For a company turning over $2m this represents a profit improvement of $120,000 - $200,000 in one year.
AspectPL runs on a standard computer network and software installation and initial training can usually be accomplished in less than a week.
