First PLM software for SMEs

PRODUCT Lifecycle Management , in association with Edge Software Australia, will have an interactive display of its new Velocity product - said to be the world's first product lifecycle management software for the small and medium enterprise (SME) sector - during National Manufacturing Week 2006, to be held at Sydney's Darling Harbour from May 30 to June 2.

Embodies all aspects of PLM.

Product Lifecycle Management (plm) sells, implements and supports software technologies and related services to improve companies' product development and product lifecycle management capabilities.

According to plm, this enterprise-level software is designed to be affordable, simple to use and seamless to integrate into an existing business framework.

The technology is designed to embody all aspects of product lifecycle management including cPDM (Product Data Management), CAE (Computer Aided Engineering), CAD (Computer Aided Design) and CAM (Computer Aided Manufacture) as a totally integrateable business process for design and management in many industries.

Other products on display at the plm stand (Stand 2306) include:

* NX, used internationally by automotive companies such as Ford and Holden to design new vehicles.

* NX Nastran, used by aerospace, defence, automotive, shipbuilding, heavy machinery, medical and consumer products makers to analyse stress, vibration and structural failure.

* Solid Edge, suitable for rapid product design of digitised products, allowing easy design change requests.
