ProDetec now stocks Simtronics GD1 laser open path gas detectors, which have been designed to provide an effective response to the detection of gas hazards in a wide variety of industrial environments.

Suitable for use in applications ranging from offshore production facilities to wastewater treatment plants, these open path gas detectors require no recalibration, meaning they can easily replace multiple standard detectors to cover the same risk.

They feature a tuneable laser diode that eliminates environmental effects from sun, rain and fog. The laser scans single absorption lines where there is no interference from other gases.

The optomechanical design and construction of these devices is so stable, ProDetec states, that an ultra fast speed of response can be achieved whilst providing unparalleled service life and detector stability, thus saving on maintenance and service costs.

A dual output gas configuration of Simtronics GD1 open path gas detectors is also available, whereby a single laser can be used to detect both methane and hydrogen sulphide. In this configuration, significant reductions in cabling, installation time and maintenance costs can be expected.
