ProDesign Lighting offer the Rosco DichroFilm colour filter. It has the same colour characteristics of Permacolor Dichroic glass and is manufactured as a high temperature polymer substrate. The Rosco DichroFilm colour filter is suitable for hard to reach installations or high transmission and high temperature colour filters.
The Rosco DichroFilm colour filter is suitable for theatrical, film, television and architectural applications, where dichroic glass filters could be damaged or pose a safety issue if broken. The Rosco DichroFilm colour filter is available in the following colours:
- Primary blue
- CT blue daylight
- CT orange Yungsten
- Indigo
- Magenta
- Primary green
- Yellow
- Cyan
- Orange
- Red
The Rosco DichroFilm colour filter is available in the following sizes:
- 152mm x 152mm
- 190mm x 190mm
- 254mm x 254mm
- 635mm x 635mm
As the Rosco DichroFilm colour filter can be cut with scissors or a knife, customs sizes can be made to suit any configuration within these parameters. For optimum performance, the Rosco DichroFilm colour filter should be installed with the coated side of the filter towards the lamp. The coated side should be marked with a small decal.
Fixtures with beam spreads wider than 45° may exhibit colour shifting at the periphery of the beam. The wider the beam spread, the significant the colour shift will be. The Rosco DichroFilm colour filter can be arched or curved to compensate for the colour shift. Users should ensure that a support frame is in place to hold the Rosco DichroFilm colour filter in position once curve angle is determined.
Maximum temperature limitations for each Rosco DichroFilm colour filter have not been determined. The Rosco DichroFilm colour filter has the following specifications:
- Standard thickness: 5mil (.005” or 127 microns)
- Colour tolerance: +/- 10nm of designed half height
