Practical Control Solutions introduces the new SO367001 fast burst controllers suitable for infrared heaters.
The SO367001 fast burst controllers work by calculating the ratio of complete AC cycles on to time off in response to a 0-10V DC analogue input signal over the smallest possible time period.
For example at 25% output the SO367001 burst controller will have an output of one AC cycle on, 3 off, at 50% output, 1 cycle on, 1 off, and at 75% output, 3 cycles on, 1 cycle off.
This type of control is ideal for low inertia loads such as infrared heaters because it gives smooth control over its full range without any perceptible change in heat output as it modulates. Zero cross switching ensures minimal harmonics and RFI.
The SO367001 fast burst controllers are supplied in a standard solid state relay package and can switch up to 75A/450VAC on appropriate heatsink.
