Practical Control Solutions have released the GCO100, a high quality device for measuring carbon monoxide (CO) concentration up to 1000ppm (0.1% by volume) in ambient air.
Carbon monoxide levels can be displayed in units of either ppm, mg/m3 or %CO Hb. The GCO100 CO measuring device has a freely adjustable alarm function that alerts the user to dangerous carbon monoxide levels both visually and acoustically. The acoustic alarm has an interrupted tone that increases in intensity in proportion to the CO measurement. At CO levels greater than 300ppm, the tone is continuous.
The GCO100 CO measuring device can also be connected to the optional GAM3000 switching device, which allows the unit to send the alarm signal to other systems.
Adaptors are available for measuring exhaled breath for Carboxy-Haemoglobin tests, typically used for assessing the health of smokers. Other functions include a maximum level storage and hold.
Power supply is through either a 9V cell or mains powered through an optional plugpack. The GCO100 CO measuring device has low power consumption and will typically run for >1000 hours on a 300mA/h cell.
An optional USB interface cable is available that allows the GCO100 CO measuring device to record readings through the EBS9M software, or users can write their own software to interrogate the instrument using a universally applicable Windows function library (GMH3000.dll). Reference gas bottles are available for calibration.
Typical applications of the GCO100 CO measuring device include testing of combustion and heating systems, measurement of air quality in work places, Carboxy-Haemoglobin testing of smokers and CO detection at fires.
